"Don't Look Up" Netflix watch party

Have you seen or heard about the movie Don’t Look Up? Did you think it was a parable about climate change? Or was it more generally about the role of science in society and politics? Is this movie funny or depressing? Is it quite clever or actually pretty bad?

We’ve got opinions and we’d love to get together to discuss them! Don’t Look Up has been nominated for four Oscars, including Best Picture. Let’s get together (virtually) to watch the movie before the Oscars and share our opinions. We will have climate scientists (and others) on hand to ensure a thrilling and informative conversation.

The watch party will be on Saturday March 12th from 5pm - 7:30pm. We will watch on Netflix and use the Teleparty Chrome Extension. This means you will need to have your own Netflix account, and install the extension before the party starts. https://www.teleparty.com/ During the movie, there will be a text-only chat available. Then after the movie, we will move onto Zoom for a face-to-face discussion from 7:30-8:30pm. You are welcome to join us for either or both parts of the event.

If you’d like to join us, please register at this link: https://forms.gle/6q1R8yWxRdaqRA5K9

You will receive links to join both the watch party and the zoom chat about 15 minutes prior to the start of the event. Feel free to email us at sea500womensci@gmail.com if you have any questions before the event.
